I interned with Ontum Education from October 10, 2021, to November 20, 2021. I engaged with the team, visited schools, and understood the philosophy of the organization. I contributed my understanding of the same when given the opportunity to work in the social media team. I enjoyed creating a short PowerPoint document about the key learning skills used in the lessons. I also contributed to the Help Page for the Ontum website. A group of us visited schools and conducted sessions on values. The first session was on discipline, morals, and etiquette, followed by the second session on good touch and bad touch. In the third session, conducted only for the female students, we answered personal medical questions. It was observed that many of them were completely new to all these concepts. In the first session, the children took time to come up and interact with us since we had language barriers. Later, we were able to make them understand and manage the sessions with ease. We found the children to be very interactive and enthusiastic. They were very happy to see pictures from the presentation and learn new words and concepts. The second day was a bit uncomfortable for the children in the beginning since the session was about good touch and bad touch but they understood the need to learn these things. The final session was conducted only for girls. They were very comfortable with us and asked us questions about changes they undergo at puberty. The sessions were very productive and all of us had a sense of satisfaction after educating the young minds with very important things for life. The children found it very useful too and promised to spread the word to their friends also. The teachers were very supportive and happy that we were able to make children learn so much in a very short span. I loved working with Ontum. I have realized my own inner strength and capacity to accomplish things. They say, "pressure brings change." but the agency staff proved it wrong. They never pressurised me to finish a task but approached me in a friendly manner and made me finish the tasks. The design team was the best. My wishes to all the future interns.
